Where safari was invented.
Kenya wrote the safari rulebook and still teaches the masterclass: the Masai Mara’s big cats, elephants crossing beneath Kilimanjaro at Amboseli, and conservancies where walking safaris and camel treks replace the minibus queue. Direct flights from the Gulf put the bush within a morning’s travel.
It is also Africa’s most natural family safari — short hops between parks, lodges that genuinely welcome children, and the Indian Ocean waiting at Diani for the post-safari collapse. The migration crosses into the Mara from July to October; the wildlife never leaves.
